Today I heard the great news that those who use Pidgin we can also use it to connect to facebook through the XMPP protocol.
To do anything else you must set the new account with the following parameters:
Protocol: XMPP or Jabber
Username:
Domain: chat.facebook.com
Jabber ID: @ chat.facebook.com
Password:
* Enter the following data:
Port: 5222
Server: chat.facebook.com
Use SSL / TLS:
not Allow plain text authentication
And it should work.
